Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Moun Afe Bon TV ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not store your plain-text password.

Usage and Analytics Data. We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages and content viewed, features used, session duration, and in-app actions. This helps us improve the experience for all users.

Device Information. We automatically collect certain information about the device you use to access the Service, including the device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (such as advertising IDs), network type, and general location information (country/region derived from IP address).

Livestreaming Data. When you participate in or view a livestream, we use LiveKit, a third-party real-time communications platform, to transmit audio and video streams. Connection metadata (such as IP address and session timing) may be processed by LiveKit to deliver the stream. We do not retain recordings of livestreams unless explicitly stated.

Advertising Data. We use Google AdMob to serve in-app advertisements. AdMob may collect and use your device identifiers (including the Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA) and other data to show you relevant ads and measure ad performance. This data is governed by Google's own privacy policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
• To deliver news, media, sports, politics, and live content to you.
• To operate and improve the livestreaming experience via LiveKit.
• To serve advertising through Google AdMob and measure ad effectiveness.
• To analyze usage patterns and improve the features, performance, and reliability of the Service.
• To communicate with you about account-related matters, updates, and support.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers that help us operate the Service:

• Convex (Backend Infrastructure). Our database and application backend are hosted on Convex. User data (including account email, content interactions, and application state) is stored in Convex's cloud infrastructure. Convex processes data on our behalf and is subject to appropriate data processing agreements.
• Google AdMob. We use AdMob to display advertisements within the app. AdMob may use advertising identifiers and other signals to deliver personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's advertising settings. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
• LiveKit. Livestreaming functionality is powered by LiveKit. When you participate in a live session, connection data is processed by LiveKit's infrastructure. For more information, see LiveKit's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We only share data with service providers to the extent necessary to operate the Service.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

Advertising identifiers and analytics data collected by Google AdMob are retained according to Google's data retention policies, which you can review in Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR and CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information:

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom (GDPR):

Your information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers maintain their infrastructure. When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
